Preamble Be it known that Cal U Bowling Club (CUBC) operates as a student run organization for students of Cal U and approved peers for the following purposes:

1. To promote social interaction between all participants.
2. To provide another extracurricular activity option to California University students.

Article I - Name Section 1. The name of the organization shall be Cal U Bowling Club (CUBC) hereafter referred to as Bowling Club (BC).

Article II - Purpose Section 1. The purpose of this organization shall be to continually improve college life through the provision of this activity to Cal U students.

Article III - Membership Section 1. Membership is open to any California University of Pennsylvania student.
Section 2. The privileges and responsibilities of membership are the ability to participate in meetings, privileges of voting at meetings and the privilege of bowling with teammates while showing responsibility with demonstration of good sportsmanship.

Article IV - Meetings and Procedures
Section 1. Regular meetings should be held at the rate of one per week, or as deemed necessary by the members of Bowling Club.
Section 2. Quorum shall be at least more than 50% of the current membership.
Section 3. Meetings will follow Robert’s Rule of Order.
Section 4. A motion will carry if and only if a two-thirds majority of the members present is attained.
Section 5. When a matter is to be decided on by vote, all members present will vote. However, the president will only vote in the event of a tie.
Section 6. All members will pay the amount specified at the beginning of the season - the cost covers the price of bowling, shoes and food - students can pay on a weekly basis, or pay the total amount, if they so choose.

Article V - Officers Section 1. Cal U Bowling Club shall have the following officers: president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and chairperson.
Section 2. The duties of these officers shall be:
Section 2.1. President - shall call meetings to order and motion to end the meetings, if another member seconds the motion; conducts meetings according to the order of business; authorizes any dispersed funds.
Section 2.2. Vice-president - shall assist the President in any way necessary; shall perform the Presidents duties in his/her absence: is a member ex officio of all committees of the CUBC and shall appoint members to said committees as deemed necessary by the CUBC.
Section 2.3. Secretary - shall keep a detailed and accurate written running record of the meetings, to include attendance and business covered; to inform other CUBC members of meetings and events sponsored by the Cal U Bowling Club.
Section 2.4. Treasurer - shall keep an accurate record of funds debited and credited to the CUBC.
Section 2.5. Chairperson - responsible for recruitment and scheduling of persons to help with CUBC related events.
Section 3. The length of all terms of office shall be one academic semester, at the end of which new officers shall be nominated and elected.
Section 4. Only members who are members of Cal U Bowling Club may run for and hold office.

Article VI - Electing, Appointing and Removing Officers Section 1. Organizational elections must take place at least once per semester at the beginning of the semester .
Section 2. In the event of a mid-term vacancy of an elected officer a special election for the position will be held to select someone to fill the remainder of the term.
Section 3. Impeachment process will be as follows:
Section 3.1. If a motion for impeachment leads to a vote, a two-thirds majority approval is necessary for said officer to be removed as well as approval from the CUBC Advisor.
Section 3.2. A motion to impeach an officer shall be entertained if the members of CUBC feel that said officer(s) is not satisfactorily performing the duties of his office as outlined in Article V, Section 2 of this document.
Section 3.3. If process is directed toward the President course will be determined by CUBC Advisor.
Section 3.4. If process is directed toward the CUBC Advisor, due process will be enacted, after which, a two-thirds majority of the members must be attained, as well as a majority of the executive board officers’ vote.

Article VII - Committees Section 1. Committees will be appointed by the Chairperson, President, or Vice-president of CUBC as deemed necessary by the members of CUBC and serve on an ad hoc basis only.

Article VIII - By-Laws Section 1. By-Laws of the organization shall be established and altered by the current officers of CUBC and approved by all voting members present.

Article IX - Amendments to the Constitution Section 1. Amendments can be proposed by any officer or voting members, with the exception of the President.
Section 2. Amendments must be ratified by the President and a two-thirds majority vote is necessary to carry an amendment.

Article X - Ratification Section 1. This constitution shall be established by all officers of CUBC and the members-at-large during the academic term of Spring 2004.
