Hello! We'd like you to take a moment to ask yourself a few important questions:

  • Do I enjoy meeting new people?
  • Do I like new experiences?
  • Do I like to try new foods?
  • Have I ever wanted to learn a foreign language?
  • Do I speak a foreign language?
  • Have I ever traveled and/or studied abroad? Would I like to travel abroad?
  • Do I like to learn about cultures different from my own?

If you have answered YES to any of these questions, then consider joining the
FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLUB at Cal U!!!

Any interested student or faculty member may become a member.

You do NOT need to know a foreign language to join. You do NOT need to be a foreign language major. All you need to have is an interest in foreign language and culture!

Our purpose is to promote the active use of foreign languages within campus limits... and beyond. We seek to stimulate interest in foreign languages and cultures; to encourage interested persons to pursue the study of a foreign language(s); and to establish, encourage, and maintain rapport among the language majors at California University of PA.

Each semester, teh Foreign Language Club both sponsors and participates in many fun and educational activities. In the past, such events have included:

  • Movie Nights, when we get together to watch foreign films;
  • Cooking Nights, when members volunteer to make and share their favorite international dishes;
  • The International Fair, a campus event with lots of food and entertainment;
  • Dining out once each semester at a local ethnic restaurant; and
  • Cultural events, such as museum exhibits and theater performances.

Simply come to a meeting and introduce yourself! For meeting times and locations, ask a club member, or contact the Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures, 201 South Hall, 938-4246. Also watch for signs posted on campus!

Meetings are held bi-weekly. During our meetings, members share stories, plan special events, and discuss other club-related issues.
