Welcome! to the California University of Pennsylvania's student Chapter of the Wildlife Society. Students within the biology/environmental department at Cal-U are encouraged to join our club. This club is a great opportunity to gain experience with wildlife management while having fun. Non-majors are gladly welcomed too (diversity = sustainability).
Our student chapter became nationally recognized on December 30, 1996. Since then we have grown to about 25 plus members. If you like hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, wildlife or the outdoors in general, then this club if for you. We were established to promote environmental understanding and education about wildlife and environmental resources through hands-on opportunities. The Wildlife Society is an International organization of wildlife professionals and students dedicated to excellence in wildlife stewardship through science and education. Every year the Cal-U chapter raises money to attend the annual Wildlife Society Conference, which helps students to explore job/internship opportunities and to make contacts.
Meetings are held every Thursday at 11:00 in BSC room 300. Our goals are to provide education about the value of wildlife and opportunities to experience it firsthand.
