The next club meeting will be on Thursday, September 1st, at 11:00 in Eberly 255.

Earth Sciences Picnic

The Meteorology Club will participate again in this years EAS Picnic at Mingo Creek Park on Sunday September 11th at 1pm.

StormFest 2012

On the weekend of February 24th and 25th, Cal U will host the 5th Annual StormFest at the Carnagie Science Center in Pittsburgh. In addition to the Meteorology club, volunteers from the Geology and Education Departments will hel to make our largest educational outreach event to date a great success.

WxChallenge

Cal U will again be participating in Wx Challenge. It is voluntary and open to all current students of Cal U. If you would like to sign up please send an email to David Fischer. More information can be found here.

Technical Trouble

Our website is currently experiencing some technical troubles including webcam images and forecast graphics not updating, weather station information being not up-to-date and some broken links. We appreciate your understanding as we work on these issues

Weather Forecasting Information

The Cal U Weather Center issues forecasts for the Southwest Pennsylvania region Monday through Friday during the academic year.  Forecasts will not be updated during holidays and university breaks.  During severe weather events the Cal U Weather Center will issue special weather statements. AMS 2011

On January 23rd, 13 Cal U Meteorology Students flew to Seattle to attend the 91st Annual Meeting of American Meteorolgical Society. Three students presented posters while two faculty members, Dr. Kauffman and Dr. Jasko, presented orally to members of this national orginization. The club also displayed a poster outlining our activities and won third place as well as being honored as an Honor Roll Chapter.


Comments and Suggestions

A comments and suggestions form has been put in place for meteorology club members to put in their thoughts. There is no special requirements. Some examples for suggestions may be an activity that you would like to fundraising ideas. We are always looking for ways to make our club better. This club is for you, so voice your opinion!
