T e a  P a r t y

It must be getting frigid in their cottage
The Mad Hatter sets out tea less and less
On the sunny porch where we used to bask
The Mad Hatter, the Queen, the Door mouse, and Alice
Who sat with them, in her usual fashion, out of curiosity
Alice has not been to their cottage in months
She grew weary of growing taller and smaller
Alternately, depending on her mood…In fact
She tired of the Mad Hatter’s incessant leer
Of the Queen’s constant query “One lump or two or ten?”
Of the Door mouse’s eternal smugness
Of all their jealousy over her pretty blue frock
Alice wanted, simply put, out of Wonderland
But she was unsure which of the rabbit’s holes
She had so clumsily fallen into
