Cabernet Sauvignon

by Grant Krinock

 In a quiet wine cellar
there is an endless sea of emerald,
glistening with what little
light has penetrated
this incomparable sanctuary.

The smell of wine fermenting
hangs thick in the air,
it is almost hard to breathe,
how wonderful it would be,

to suffocate from a scent so sweet.

When will the fruits’ sweet
nectar be poured into its captor,
who will taste the elegant pleasure
and feel the cool, crisp sensation
of heaven upon the tongue?
